Darjeeling: State govt doubles special audit team for scrutiny of GTA accounts

On a day when the circumstance in Darjeeling hinted at coming back to ordinary, the Mamata Banerjee government mounted further weight on Gorkha Janmukti Morcha president and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration CEO Bimal Gurung by adding six more officers to the current group of six-part exceptional review group examining monetary unfortunate behavior in GTA.



The 12-part group will examine accounts of the semi-self-sufficient body since it was set up in 2012. As per state secretariat sources, the back division will document police grievance is they could spot anomalies.

On Saturday, the six-part group that achieved Darjeeling on Friday to direct the extraordinary review met GTA secretary Don Bosco Lepcha, boss controller of fund Nimesh Sundas, monetary officer Sangey Bhutia and the review officer. The group will formally start its review from Monday, sources told HT. The group will visit distinctive GTA workplaces in Darjeeling.
